Koreans eat dogs. Yes, I know that sounds strange. But, it’s true. They cook dog meat in stews and eat it. North Korea has hurled a major insult against America by calling John Kerry a wild dog. They called President Obama a monkey. I think they are just digging their own grave by voicing such uncivilized criticisms against America.
Joseph Kim speaking about North Korea
From hunger to hope. This guy named Joseph Kim was able to escape the bondage of North Korea. He spoke at TEDGlobal 2013. Very impressed by his story. Very moved. It’s a sad story, but it also gives hope to the world.

North Korean people
The North Korean people are oppressed. They are victims. They are held captive and they need to be freed. When will someone go in and help them? When will the rest of the world intervene and help these poor souls? Every day that we wait, more innocent people die. They starve. They don’t see a future.
Will North Korea attack South Korea?
I can’t eat. I can’t sleep. I need to know if North Korea is going to attack South Korea. I need to know if I should get ready to die. Why now? I’m not ready to go!

Life in rural Korea
Life in rural Korea is still very primitive. People live with basic resources like running water and electricity. There are many parts of Korea that do not have access to modern technologies like the Internet. However, things are improving.
In rural areas, we call them “shigol.” 시골 This means countryside. Rice patties. Farm animals. Basic homes.
People don’t know what they are missing, do they? Then again, perhaps you envy the fact that these people live a very simple life. They are not bombarded with the hustle and bustle of a fast-paced society.
